The LMT spec war upper receiver is engineered for optimal operational performance, developed in collaboration with elite American military personnel. It is compatible with the new 12-1/2 inches MRP barrel and other barrels measuring 12 inches or longer. Enhancements include the removal of built-in forward QD swivels and an extended length beyond the traditional CQB configuration, thereby improving ergonomics and accessory space. These modifications provide users with a tactical advantage and enhanced lethality. The spec war upper retains the classic barrel swap capability while emphasizing the need for a stable platform to support mounted laser aiming and illumination devices, essential for night operations. It features an M-LOK pattern rail mounting system and a continuous picatinny top rail. For users requiring a QD sling, a single attachment point is located at the rear of the receiver. Constructed from a single-piece of aerospace-grade aluminum, the patented LMT monolithic Rail Platform (MRP) upper receiver integrates the receiver and handguard. The barrel is secured using a proprietary locking system with two locking bolts accessible from the right side of the receiver requiring only a standard T-30 Torx bit for tightening. This receiver is designed to accommodate the patented LMT monolithic barrel assembly, which includes a low-profile gas block with a straight gas tube.
